Websites

Websites for Local Businesses

A website’s only job is to turn someone who’s already interested into someone who calls. Most small business sites fail at that, not because they look bad, but because they’re slow, hard to use on a phone, and never say clearly what you do or where you do it.

What’s included

What you actually get.

  • Built for your business

Designed from your trade, your area and your customers — not dragged out of a template someone else chose.

  • Fast on a phone

Most of your visitors are on 4G, standing outside somewhere. If the site takes five seconds to load, they’ve already rung someone else.

  • Written to get the call

Clear services, clear area, clear price signals, and a phone number that works with one tap on every screen.

  • Found on Google from day one

Proper page titles, headings, structured data and a sitemap. Built in, not bolted on later.

  • Yours to keep

You own the site, the domain and the content. Nothing is locked to me and you can take it elsewhere whenever you want.

  • Easy to update

I’ll show you how to change your hours, prices and services yourself — or I’ll do it, whichever you prefer.

What usually goes wrong

I see the same four problems over and over.

The site is slow. Page builders stack plugin on plugin until a simple page is three megabytes. Google measures that, and so does everybody who gives up waiting.

It doesn’t say where you work. A beautiful site that never mentions the town it serves will not rank for anyone searching in that town.

It’s built for the owner, not the customer. The company history goes at the top and the phone number is buried three clicks down.

Nobody ever touched it again. Prices from four years ago, a service you stopped offering, opening hours that are simply wrong.

How I build instead

Every site I make is written by hand. No page builder, no forty plugins, no theme bought from a marketplace and bent into shape. That means the pages are small, they load fast, and there’s nothing on them that isn’t doing a job.

It also means the site is built around one question: if someone lands here from a Google search, what do they need to see before they’ll pick up the phone? Usually that’s what you do, where you do it, proof that you’re any good, and an obvious way to get in touch.

What it costs

Every business needs something different, so I quote per project rather than selling packages. You get a fixed price up front — no hourly billing, no surprise invoices. The first conversation and the presence check are free.

Questions

About this service.

Most websites take between 2–4 weeks from the first conversation to going live, depending on how big the site is and how quickly you can get me your content.

No. Most people send me a rough brain dump and some photos, and I turn it into the finished pages. You get to read and change everything before it goes live.

Small changes are usually quick and I’ll just do them. If you’d rather handle it yourself, I’ll show you how. There’s no lock-in either way.

Want to know if this is what you need?

The free presence check tells you which two or three things are actually worth doing for your business. Sometimes this service isn’t one of them, and I’ll say so.
